As well as covering anxiety, depression, stress and the conditions most students will be familiar with, this lesson also has a focus on two conditions which are sometimes dismissed or ignored as trivial; SAD and PMDD. Using real life case studies, students will explore the stories of Dexter, Brie and Angie as they try to get their voices heard, and eventually, a successful diagnosis. There is a detailed and colourful PowerPoint, clip tasks, an information pack, worksheets, literacy tasks, clip tasks, creative tasks - all with answers included, signposting to further help agencies and charities and clear outcomes.
It is fully editable, engaging and very easy to follow. The DfE has stated how important it is for students not to self-diagnose or to see a bad day as meaning they have a mental health condition, so this lesson is very careful to also get that message across.
