Changing Emotions - how will our feelings change during puberty? A one hour lesson suitable for KS2 (Year 4 for those following the PSHE Association's Thematic model), all about hormones and the emotional changes that boys and girls commonly experience during puberty. Written for the new 2020 PSHE Guidelines, the lesson discusses the impact of hormones such as oestrogen and testosterone on our mood.

The lesson touches on topics such as mood swings, premenstrual syndrome, feelings of aggression, irritability and low mood. It is well-differentiated with three-level challenges for each task, contains a variety of activities, an hour long PowerPoint, an information pack, a clip with questions, a literacy focus task,  and clear measurable learning outcomes.
