New for 2026 - a two hour lesson on planning and managing a household budget. Students will examine the household budgets of 4 UK households - a young couple on average income, a divorcee nurse, a wealthy businessman and a young family with a disabled child. Their task is to stick to the budgets of each household, whilst navigating financial challenges such as pregnancy, a new car, a brother in debt, carers allowance, lodgers and much more! This is a fun lesson and culminates in a video bingo game about how different levels of income are managed by UK citizens. Best for KS4/5 but nothing unsuitable for KS3.
