Remembering Queen Elizabeth II and Introducing King Charles III
In this lesson, the students will reflect on Queen Elizabeth II’s time as monarch and look to the future as we welcome our new monarch, King Charles III. We will discuss the impact of the Queen’s passing on the UK public and reflect on the qualities that made her reign so special and unique.
We will find out more about King Charles III, and the things that were important to him before he ascended to the throne. We we discuss the monarch’s role as the head of state and rules that Charles must abide by as he carries out his duties.
The lesson includes a starter activity, a video clip with accompanying questions, a card sort, a set of fact cards, and a plenary task.
