Year 2 Unit 1 - All About Money (FREE SOW)
Our spiral curriculum builds progressively year on year, culminating in this Year 2 unit on Money. Pupils first encountered this topic in EYFS, when they explored different coins and their value. In this unit, they will deepen their understanding of money by exploring what money is, the different ways we can pay for things, how we get money, as well as simple strategies for managing and looking after it. We will also discuss wants and needs, and why understanding the difference is important for managing money. This topic is intended as a basic introduction to money management, which will be developed in greater depth in later years.
This free planning bundle includes a detailed scheme of work, a long-term plan showing our entire curriculum at a glance, a Year 2 roadmap illustrating the progressive design across the year, and a comprehensive knowledge organiser highlighting key vocabulary and summarising the progression of skills and knowledge. It also provides British Values mapping and optional pre- and post-assessments. Explore the detailed content of each lesson by clicking the links below.
