One hour, fully resourced lesson which introduces the different traditional types of Islamic clothing for both men and women before exploring why some items provoke controversy. Students will take part in designing a range of clothing for an Islamic fashion show, that needs to please both a religiously conservative and liberal audience. They then will explore the concept of Freedom of Expression through extended literacy and debate tasks. This resource pack includes an hour long PowerPoint with accompanying worksheets, case studies, well differentiated activities, literacy focus tasks, clip tasks with three-way differentiated questions and information sheets.
